No. Unclaimit LLC is a registered investigator with the California State Controller’s Office. Every claim traces to a public State or county record, and you see the exact fee before you sign.
Nothing upfront, ever. Our fee is a percentage of what is actually recovered, deducted only when the money arrives. If nothing is recovered — including a denied or withdrawn claim — you owe nothing.
Not to search. Your name and past addresses are enough to find and verify a match. If the State later requires identity documents for a specific claim, we tell you exactly what and why.
The search takes about a minute. Your signed packet is typically filed within two to three weeks. For California SCO claims, allow up to 180 days for review after the State receives the signed Claim Affirmation and all required documentation. This is not a payment deadline; securities may need additional processing after approval.
